Jim Flood
Jim Flood is the founder of Elite Performance Consulting. Jim is one of Canada’s top coaches. He has represented Team Canada as both an athlete and as a coach. As an athlete he was victorious in many National and World Championship karate events, winning medals in five world championships, ranging from bronze to gold. As a coach, he has helped produce hundreds of world champions. Jim believes that he has learned far more from his defeats than his victories. We either win or learn; we learn from every experience if we approach it with the proper mindset.
Learning to control the mental aspects of the game was one of Jim’s biggest challenges and is his reason for developing the Elite Performance Program. The importance of the mental aspect of performance is much better understood today than in the past.
Jim is an experienced martial arts school franchisor and coach of the Canadian National team. He is currently part of Team Canada’s World Karate Commission coaching staff and enjoys the process of helping people get the most out of their performance and become the best version of themselves. Jim holds a seven-degree black belt in karate and has also earned black belts in ITF Taekwondo and Japanese Jujitsu.
During the pandemic, he took it upon himself to dramatically improve his coaching abilities.
- Certified Mental Performance Coach through Brian Cain’s Mental Mastery Program.
- Certified as a Character Coach through character.org.
- He educated himself in the psychology of mindset and performance and worked through Dr. Alan Goldberg of Competitive Advantage.
- With Jim’s experience as a coach and athlete, combined with his newfound knowledge, he has produced a winning system that is getting remarkable results.
"Mr. Flood has an infectious personality and a way of building up everyone around him. He takes a genuine interest in his students and does everything he can to help build them into the best versions of themselves, always showing students they can achieve anything they set their minds to. Mr. Flood’s vast experience as a Martial Artist, and his education which further compliments his coaching abilities, along with his uplifting and positive attitude make him a phenomenal coach and a wonderful influence to have on our students at AFAMA."
"Sensei Jim Flood is an amazing instructor and truly inspires his students to be the best they can be. He has helped East-West Karate students become among the top competitors in the world. His motivational style and demanding workouts bring out the best in students. I would highly recommend sensei Flood and his Elite Performance System to any school owner or athlete."
